Making a Brand

Meant to comment on the permanent mark left by large retail corporations on modern retail markets. I created this branding rod with the "Nike Swoosh" symbol.

Hand-made out of copper, then soldered and ground into shape. The copper logo is attached to an all-thread rod, which allows the piece to be interchangeable.

The brand is then heated and permanently pressed into the radial mandala pattern, its linework proceeds to burn away at the marks junction points.
